With a unique blend of theological insight and over 35 years of experience with the National Park Service, Mark Tezel brings depth, clarity, and passion to every presentation he delivers. His career has spanned ministry, interpretation, leadership training, and even cruise ship education—each experience enriching the stories he shares.

Theology & Ministry

Mark holds a degree in theology and has delivered sermons, led worship services, and facilitated religious programs across various settings.

• National Park Interpretation

As a National Park Service Interpretive Ranger, Mark has presented engaging programs that connect visitors to the natural and cultural heritage of America’s parks.

Leadership & Facility Management

In his final 12 years with the NPS, Mark served as a training administrator, teaching leadership principles, team development, and facility management best practices.

Cruise Ship Presentations

Mark has also shared his knowledge and travel experiences through presentations aboard cruise ships, offering insights into destinations, history, and maritime operations.

  • Jeff. Smith Parlor – A Gold Rush Story

The Klondike Gold Rush brought about a bunch of exciting boom towns and, well, let’s just say some not-so-great characters. One of those characters, Soapy Smith, saw the chaos and decided to make a living in the wild west town of Skagway, Alaska. The National Park Service is doing its best to keep his story alive, along with many others at the Klondike Gold Rush National Historical Park.

Ice shaped much of the landscape on the Kenai Peninsula in Alaska.  Kenai Fjords National Park invites you to explore the dramatic scenery created by the ice of the Harding Icefield and the numerous glaciers spawned off of the icefield.
