Morning in Georgetown

We started Day 5 of our Colorado road trip with a peaceful morning stroll through the charming streets of Georgetown, Colorado. Nestled in a valley surrounded by towering peaks, this historic mining town offers a quiet escape with its preserved 19th-century architecture, colorful storefronts, and welcoming atmosphere.

Crossing Berthoud Pass

By midday, we hit the road again, heading north over the dramatic Berthoud Pass. At over 11,000 feet, the pass offered sweeping views of snow-dusted peaks, dense evergreen forests, and winding mountain roads. We paused at the Continental Divide sign to take in the scenery. We even felt a few snow flakes.

Arrival in Granby

Our destination for the next couple of days is https://www.townofgranby.com/Granby, where we’ll be visiting friends and enjoying the slower pace of mountain life. Nestled near the western entrance to Rocky Mountain National Park, Granby is a perfect base for exploring the area’s natural beauty. We’re looking forward to catching up, sharing stories, and maybe even spotting some wildlife.
